Abstract
Research on maritime accident data has shown that about 80% the causes of maritime accidents are related to human factors, including errors in the work process, subjectivity, lack of knowledge, training and poor management. In addition, human structure, awareness and safety culture in the organization also play an important role. Therefore, a complete assessment of human factors in the maritime field will provide a clear and basic source of knowledge before implementing measures to improve, enhance efficiency and ensure subsequent safety more easily. In this paper, we focus on clarifying issues related to human factors in ensuring maritime safety, explaining terms, assessing the impact of maritime accidents and analyzing published research data to provide an overview of this issue.
